RecipeTimer App & Website
UX/UI Design for a Start-Up
I collaborated with a start-up to help define the core user experience and visual identity for RecipeTimer, a digital platform designed to simplify cooking by providing intuitive, step-by-step timers for recipes. My role as the UX/UI Designer focused on shaping a cohesive design system and ensuring a seamless, user-friendly experience across both the mobile app and responsive website.
I was responsible for:

-
Leading the discovery phase to understand user needs, cooking habits, and pain points.
-
Developing wireframes, user flows, and interactive prototypes that prioritized clarity and ease of use.
-
Establishing the app’s visual style, including typography, color palette, iconography, and UI components to reflect an inviting, modern cooking experience.
-
Collaborating closely with developers and stakeholders to ensure design consistency and functional feasibility.

This project allowed me to apply user-centered design principles to create a product that balances form and function, aiming to enhance everyday cooking through thoughtful design.

Wireframes
As part of the design process for the RecipeTimer homepage, I created three wireframe options to explore different ways of communicating the product’s value to both content creators and home cooks.
Option 1 featured a bold statement above the fold with a background image, paired with two clear call-to-action buttons—one for content creators and one for home cooks. It also included a "What is RecipeTimer?" section with an explainer video, followed by a step-by-step guide tailored to content creators.
Option 2 maintained a similar structure but replaced the detailed walkthrough with a more concise, universal explanation of RecipeTimer’s functionality, using short, digestible sentences and animated video examples.
Option 3 led with a video animation demo of RecipeTimer above the fold, followed by interactive cards for each user type and a carousel-style breakdown of the product.
After collaborating with stakeholders, we chose a hybrid approach based on Option 2, replacing the section under than banner of full width image/video with the "What is RecipTimer?" amination from Option 1 for added visual impact. This version was selected for its clarity, ease of use, and ability to quickly communicate what RecipeTimer is and how it benefits both primary user groups.

Wireframes continued. . .
In addition to the homepage wireframes, I also designed user flows for the call-to-action buttons—creating dedicated wireframes for the Recipe Creators page, the Home Cooks page, and a Plans & Pricing page tailored for creators exploring subscription options before signing up.
After presenting these wireframes, I collaborated closely with the stakeholder to review and select key elements that aligned with our goals. To ensure a cohesive experience across the site, I carried over the homepage layout, including the navigation menu and footer, into these pages. This consistency helps reinforce brand identity and provides users with a seamless, intuitive journey as they navigate through the site.
